The following services organized and/or supported by AFRICOM provide direct benefits to members and the communities at large.
1. Conflict Resolution
- Conflict resolutions within African organizations and between Africom members
2. Advocacy and Needs Assessment
- Workshops on business development and financing, housing, personal financing and predatory loans, etc.
- Leadership training
- Workforce training
- Adult and Literacy Education
- Tutoring
3. Health and Social Services
Health Fair Committee:
- Coordinate with City of Philadelphia Department of health
- Seek funding from corporations, foundations and NGO's
- Seek participation from health care providers
- Invite all African organizations
Social Services Committee:
- Assist members to understand and use available social services
- Coordinate with African owned social service agencies
4. Immigration Affairs
- Maintain contact with Dept. of Homeland Security for latest information
- Maintain contact with immigration service providers, e.g., Welcoming Center
- Maintain a list of African and Caribbean immigration lawyers
- Setup town hall meetings and seminars on immigration
